| dc.description.abstract | This thesis discusses the topic of '"The New Journalism in the Selected Novels of Abdullah Hussain." Xlll The first chapter explains the introductory part of this thesis, while the second chapter discusses the appearance and the development of the theory of this new journalism style, the philosophy behind it, important figures of this new journalism style and nonfiction novel,definition and characteristics of this new journalism style, and the difference between the new journalism style and the conventional style of journalism. The third chapter will look into the status and the factual and historical influence on the creative works of Abdullah Hussain and other writers of the world in modern fiction and post-modem thoughts. Samples and analyse of related works will be enclosed to further subtantiate the discussion. In chapter four, the new journalism style (faction) found in three of Abdullah Hussain's novels will. be the focus of study. The novels are Terjeba~ Perisfiw.a, and Aku Tidak Minta. The study will be base on six characteristics of this faction introduced by Tom Wolfe (1973) and John Hollowell (1977). This chapter will also analyse the usage and the effect oftb'e usage of faction in Abdullah Hussain's creative work in the said three novels. And chapter five will analyse the style of fiction found in these three novels of Abdullah Hussain based on the basic characteristics that should be present in the intrinsic structure of a fiction. The basic characteristics are the theme, plot, point of view, character and characterization, the style, atmosphere or intonation. Chapter six is the conclusion of this thesis. The bibliography and the appendix are included at the end of the thesis. | en_US |
