dc.description.abstractThe quality of the building constructed is becoming an issue due to the excellent complaints of defective works and created a bad image and reputation on the Libyan construction industry. The high rate of house defects works are reflected by the lack of commitment for quality by the local contractors. This is due to low priority is given for quality in contrast to the time and cost and, failures of the contractor in implementing a necessary quality control measures during construction stage. Thus this research is to identify the reasons for having a low quality control in the building projects and the main objectives of this research are to propose a comprehensive setup for the contractor's working at the building construction project which will enable him to complete the building with in time, allocated budget and as per specifications. So that the best solutions and advices can be easily discover. Beside that, the existing practice of quality control by local contractor and the status of the lmv quality problem are the crucial areas to be discovered and investigate to obtain a real picture on the weaknesses areas and to find a way for improvements. The results from the finding show that one of the best solutions to the low quality of properties is to implement the ISO 9000 quality system, improve their quality control measures from the initial stage until the completion stages of the construction works. Enhance the quality control in local construction industry, the contractor should provide better control on the performance of these important persons or propulsive more training. knowledge, information and guidance to ensure they perform the function of quality control to a satisfactory level.en_US
