| dc.description.abstract | Tbis thesis is a study on skilled training programmes provided by the government to supply skilled workers for construction industry. Eventhough there are so many ministries which are involve in these programmes, the present situation suggests that there is a weakness in the management system which resulted in a serious shortage of skilled workers for the construction industry, thereby forcing the government to import foreigners to overcome the shortage. The objective of this thesis is to study the present management system in order to identify the problems in the system so that suggestions can be made to improve it. Literature study on relevent topics is done to study the present management system and questionaires are sent to various contractors to get a more effective and comprehensive perspective of this thesis. In analising the questionaires, basic statistics approach i.e. percentage system is used. The :findings derived from this thesis confirmed that the management for skilled training programmes for contruction industry is very disorganised and therefore needs a better and more comprehensive system which can overcome the shortage of skilled workers for the contruction industry. | en_US |
