    Curve And Surface Modeling With Constrained B-Spline avelets

    In this paper. a class of quasi~qujntic trigonometric Bezier curve with two shape parameters, based on newly constructed trigonometric basis functions, is presented. The new basis functions share (he properties with Bernstein basis functions. so the generated curves inherit many properties of traditional Bezier curves. The presence of shape parameters provides a local control on the shape of the curve which enables the designer to control [he curve more than the ordinary Bezier curve.

    Transparent conducting oxides in the form of metal-doped ZnO thin films have important applications in optoelectronic devices. In this work, In-doped ZnO thin films were synthesized by magnetron sputtering using targets with different wt% (1 - 7%) of In20~ at a substrate temperature of 150°C on quartz and Si substrates.

    Theoretical investigation on unsteady stagnation-point flow towards a stretching or shrinking sheet.

    A study of the problem of unsteady separated stagnation-point flow towards a stretching or shrinking sheet was presented. By using a similarity transformation, the partial differential equations were reduced to a system of ordinary differential equations which were then solved numerically using bvp4c Matlab program. This Matlab program was capable of finding multiple solutions for the flow reattachment and flow reverse cases. The streamlines of the separation flow were also presented for both cases, i.e. when the origins of the stagnation flow and the stretching/shrinking sheet were aligned and non-aligned, respectively. It was found that adequate suction is necessary for the solutions to exist for the shrinking sheet case. It was also found that the suction process delays the boundary layer separation.

    Pengurusan risiko kewangan dalam kalangan peminjam pinjaman perniagaan.

    SMEs play significant role in strengthening the economic foundation of a nation. However, the business performance among SMEs is still unresolved issue. Therefore, the main purpose of this study is to investigate the risk management practices among small medium enterprise. Data were collected from 257 SMEs using a set of questionnaires. The samples were focused on the SMES in Penang which are business borrowers from a public agency. The findings revealed that the knowledge and practice of risk management is related to the years of business establishement. The more established business have a better risk management practices. This study contributes to the literature and practice by reporting current state of risk management knowledge and practice among SMEs in Malaysia, particularly in Penang. Perusahaan Keeil dan Sederhana (PKS) memainkan peranan signifikan dalam mengukuhkan asas ekonomi sesebuah negara. Walau bagaimanapun, sektor ini masih berhadapan dengan pelbagai isu yang belum selesai, antaranya aspek prestasi perniagaan. Oleh itu, tujuan utama kajian ini ialah menilai amalan pengurusan risiko dalam kalangan PKS. Data kajian telah dikutip menggunakan soa selidik daripada 257 PKS. Data kajian ditumpukan dalam kalangan PKS di Pulau Pinang yang merupakan peminjam kepada sebuah agensi kerajaan. Hasil kajian mendapati pengetahuan dan amalan pengurusan risiko kewangan dalam kalangan PKS adalah berkait dengan usia perniagaan. Perniagaan yang lebih berusia mempunyai amalan pengurusan risiko kewangan yang lebih baik. Kajian ini memberi sumbangan kepada literatur dan praktik dengan melaporkan situasi terkini berkaiatan pengetahuan dan amalan pengurusan risiko dalam kalangan PKS, khususnya PKS di Pulau Pinang.

    Synthesis,characterization and reactivity of mixed-metal cluster carbonyls.

    Series of RU3(CO)g(arphos)(L) complexes where L = PCY3. PPh3. P(C6H4F-mh, P(C6H4F-ph. P(C6H4CIph and PPh(C6H40Me-ph. and complexes of the type LAuCI where L= AS(C 21H2rP). AS(C21H21-m), Ph2As(CH2hAsPh2 and As(C30H21 ) were synthesized and characterized by spectroscopic and analytical techniques. The molecular structures of complexes have been determined by single X-ray diffraction analysis. The geometry structural and reactivity of the complexes are discussed. The elongation of Ru-Ru bonds within the RU3(CO)g(arphos)(L) is controlled by steric interaction between the group 15 monodentate ligand and CO on the adjacent Ru atom. Besides, the electronic effects accounting for this phenomenon are discussed. The Ru-P bond lengths can be attributed to the different electronic and the size of the cone angle.
