Abstract
Mineral are the most important materials of industrial activity, and the past developments are the key to the future, there is little doubt that their importance will be increase. Even now, there is hardly and avenue of human endeavor that is not in some way dependent of substances that minerals produce. Parallel with this increasing dependence on minerals in general has gone a great increase in the use and technology of metals. This has, of course led to a corresponding increase in demand for those minerals from which metals may be extracted and so the present has become an age of anxious search for ore. Human is also using up the Earth’s natural resources at en ever increasing rate. This is particularly true of non-renewable resources such as minerals upon which much of our industry and commerce depends. Gold is one of the mineral that needed by industry even in human life nowadays. Gua Musang district, Kelantan was recognized as a gold sources in Malaysia. The purpose of this research is to determine the method and the processing as well that have been used to develop the gold deposit. Gold is a mineral that can be commercialized at the international level. The study about ore body types is very important before deciding the suitable method for gold processing. Generally, gold exist in three form which is in alluvial, elluvial and in hard rock. For each type the gold ore body need different method and technique in exploration of the gold. This study include the gold mining history in Malaysia, the methods used and the processing of the alluvial gold. In the context of mineral industry, gold is one of the most important mineral deposit which can contribute some benefits to our country.
