Abstract
The primary purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between the
facilities management services and factory supervisors’ satisfaction in electric and
electronic (E&E) factories. There were numerous findings that have reflected a
relationship between quality service and customer or employee’s satisfaction. A similar
trend is also evident in research involving building facilities and employee productivity
but still there is a lack of research on the facilities management services at E&E
factories. A total number of twenty five E&E factories and one hundred and thirteen
factory supervisors were selected as sample in this research. The relationship between
the facilities management services and employee’s satisfaction was investigated using
several statistic tests. The major research findings of this study included: Firstly, the
Pearson Correlation Test for the facilities management services and employee
satisfaction was at a significant 0.05 level. The significant value was 0.697; Secondly,
the result of Cronbach’s Alpha Reliability test, the Metric Correlation Test and Pearson
Correlation Test have determined forty three activities which are suitable for
fundamental facilities management guidelines for E&E factories. The facilities
departments of E&E factories should have a standard guideline of facilities
management services for their references; Thirdly, the result of the descriptive analysis
on the facilities quality service factor in the E&E factories supported the five
dimensions in service quality: tangibles, reliability, responsiveness, assurance and
empathy.
