dc.description.abstract | In today’s global economy, product life cycle is getting shorter and competition is getting stiffer in the market. As a result, organizations are craving for human talents in order to continuously strive for innovation and breakthrough idea that will help them grow profitably. This has given rise to the importance of Human Resource Management (“HRM”) as they are no longer serve behind the scene as mere administration but rather emerge as business partner that support the delivery of organizational goals. This study focuses on the HRM productivity issue of M-ONE Sdn. Bhd. – a PCB manufacturer operating in Penang, Malaysia. The objective of the study is to improve the productivity of M-ONE’s HRM process and achieve a fully integrated HRM. The study is conducted via semi-structured interview and documents review. Various case study techniques were utilized including the Ishikawa Fishbone Analysis and SWOT analysis to identify the root causes and leading factors. After the analysis, several recommendations were suggested to the company to improve the current situation such as implementing a fully integrated Human Resource Information System (“HRIS”), establishing formalized control points and key metrics for measuring labor productivity. The main conclusion drawn in this study is that the current practices of the company is unable to increase their HRM’s process productivity. Hence, it is time for M-ONE to change by implementing HRIS, establishing formalized control points and key metrics to improve the overall HRM productivity. | en_US |
