A thermophilic bacterium Geobacillus thermoleovorans CCB_US3_UF5 was isolated from Ulu Slim hot spring located in Perak, Malaysia. Understanding the survival of G. thermoleovorans CCB_US3_UF5 requires knowledge of its genome as the blueprint for high temperature adaptation to the environment. Genome sequencing of the bacterium was performed using next generation sequencing technology. The newly isolated G. thermoleovorans CCB_US3_UF5 is closely related to thermophilic bacterium G. kaustophilus HTA 426. The draft genome consists of 7 contigs totaling 3,506,524 bp with a mean GC content of 52.3%. The annotation predicts 3955 genes, 73 tRNA, 23 rRNA (7 rRNA operon), 37 phage related genes, and 117 transposase genes. Genome-based metabolic reconstruction indicates that G. thermoleovorans CCB_US3_UF5 has a functional glycolysis, citric acid cycle, pentose phosphate and fatty acid biosynthesis pathway.en_US
