- ItemSafe food preparation with natural eclipta alba leaf antimicrobial polyphenol : A preventin strategies for leptospira infection during and after a flood.(2016)Sreenivasan, SasidharanLeptospirosis is an infection caused by corkscrew-shaped bacteria called Leptospira interrogans. number of leptospirosis cases normally increased following massive floods via the ingestion of contamin dirty floodwater as the primary source of the organism. Therefore, the current study was undertake evaluate the in vitro antimicrobial activity of Eclipta alba L. polyphenol against L. interrogans and to eval the application of this natural polyphenol in the cooked rice and tea for safe food preparation to prevent the interrogans infection.
- ItemFundamental studies on the mechanism of action of a novel sirtuin inhibitor (BZD9L 1) in colorectal cancer cells- towards the elucidation of a novel cancer therapeutic agent.(2016)Chern Ein, OonGemcitabine remains the standard treatment for pancreatic cancer. although most patients acquire resistance to the therapy. Up-regulated in pancreatic cancer. SIRTI is involved in tumorigenesis and drug resistance, However the mechanism through which SIRTl regulates drug sensitivity in cancer cells is mainly unknown.

This project that hypothesised the invasiveness of MDA-MB-231 is caused by the presence of CD105+ cells (mesenchymal-like stem cells) in the cancer cell population, managed to isolate the CD105+ from the cell population of MDA-MB-231 using the MASC Magnetic Cell Sorting Kit. The project found that removal of the CD105+ cells from the cell population of MDA-MB-231 did not reduce the growth rate or caused any apoptotic effect to the cell population.
